LEGAL MANDATE and FUNCTIONS
The Bato Water District, with its legal mandate contained in Presidential Decree 198 otherwise known as 'The Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973' as amended by Presidential Decree Nos. 768 and 1479 and RA 9286 which provides the following:
Acquiring, installing, improving, maintaining and operating water supply and distribution systems for domestic, industrial, municipal and agricultural uses for residents and lands within the boundaries;
Conducting such other functions and operations incidental to water resource development, utilization and disposal within such districts, as are necessary or incidental to said purpose;
To manage efficiently water resources for the effective delivery of water services to the Filipinos in rural areas
To provide safe, affordable and adequate water to concessionaires within the service area coverage.
